The best part of the end of summer was the fact that our summer vacations were not over! Despite the fact that school had started and we entered the month of September, our glorious beach vacations kept coming! Living in Florida, we are very fortunate to be able to enjoy summer weather well into October.
We spent the second week of September in beautiful St. George island with the Freeman family. We had never been there before and loved it! The tourist season was over, and so we were able to enjoy the island without the hustle of lots of people and relax with each other. It was great to see everyone. Since Ally and Scott had just recently visited Jacksonville, Jack and Thomas picked up where they left off. There was not a moment of shyness. They just grabbed their respective lawn mowers (Jack in blue and TH in green) and started playing! Sophia tried to keep up with the boys and did a pretty good job of it! She thoroughly enjoyed the choo choos and the boys let her play with them.

| Sophia loved the beach. She enjoyed playing in the sand with beach toys. Jack and Thomas spend a lot of their time pool side and in the ocean. Both boys enjoy the water! |
 |
| We actually managed to get in some exercise on this vacation. We walked the beaches in the mornings with the babies. Mark, Jess and Melanie did beautiful yoga ocean side. We swam in the afternoons. Of course, this was all followed by great gourmet meals, lots of margaritas and vino! |

| Cousin love! These two were inseparable. They slept in the same room, played trains, built forts, swam and laughed a lot! |
 |
| Uncle Mark and Sophie! The kids were the main focus of the trip but we did get to have some adult conversation and fun when the kiddos went down. The house had an amazing view of the stars. It was stunning to sit outside at night. |

| St. George island is very unique in that it has maintained its natural beauty, and has not been commercialized like many other beaches in Florida. You feel very close to nature while you are there. |
 |
| Eloise is still a little baby but Sophie can't wait to have her girl cousin to play with and take on those boys! |
 |
| Love birds! I truly enjoyed watching all of their yoga moves. |
 |
| So happy! This was due mostly to Scott and Ally's planning of the trip. They did a great job picking a fabulous spot. The seafood shacks were awesome, and the house was perfect for our large group. |

| Sophia is a total bookworm, which makes her Aunt Jess quite proud! She loves to read, and brought Mimi and Papa lots of books to read her. At the time of this picture, she would bring over a book or two. A month later, she now is grabbing 10-15 books a day to read. |

I hope this is the beginning of many fun family vacations to come. It was a great bonding experience. Further, we got to celebrate a really special occasion, Mimi and Papa's wedding anniversary. They have a very special bond, and I hope that Carl and I are that much in love and happy 35 years from now. Thank you for such a wonderful trip!
Great post! You have some good pictures. I should have taken more; I was having too much fun playing and hanging out! Miss you guys! Love, Aunt Jess :)
