The first few weeks of summer have been so much fun. Jack finished school and Sophie is so excited to have Jack home every day. My favorite part of the day is my morning with the kids. When I go to get them in the mornings, they are so happy and normally in full conversation when I walk into their room. Sophie has normally thrown all of her dolls out of her crib, and Jack is singing and pretending to be a conductor. I make coffee and juices, and we sit and play in the playroom together. My other favorite part is having our weekends with Carl. This is our first Jacksonville summer with Carl, and we are having lots of fun.

| Jack has been great at encouraging Sophie to walk. He follows her around, and maneuvers the walkers so that she doesn't get stuck in corners and furniture. |
| We have been actively working on potty training. After Jack's first successful potty experience, we rewarded him with a lawn mower. Jack is OBSESSED with lawn mowers, and he was SO excited. |
| Our babies on the go |
| Jack loves to watch the lawn guys come to the house. |
| Happy Birthday Carl! We had a nice evening at home with Carl for his birthday. I made clams for dinner and we had a special chocolate birthday cake. |
| Tickles |
| Carl loving on his baby girl |
| Sophia is starting to repeat words, and she now has a few words that she says regularly. Mommy, Daddy, doggies, Herme are the ones that we hear the most often. I have heard her try to say Jack a few times. |
| Jack's new obsession is spider-man. He LOVES him and talks incessantly about this super hero. |
| Jack is totally into birthdays. He knows the full order in which our birthdays fall. He knows that he is up next!!! Jack helped me buy Carl's present and wrap them (put them in bags with some tissue paper inside). When Carl got home from work on his birthday, Jack ran up to him, wished him a happy birthday and rattled off the names of all of his gifts:) When Carl looked puzzled, Jack ran into the other room and grabbed each present and pulled them out of the bags to show him his gifts. It was really cute. |
| Sophia has gotten her father's sweet tooth. She "eeewws" about everything that includes cake and frosting. |
| She finished her cake faster than anyone else! |
| Jack is really great big brother. He is a wonderful sharer. Like all kids (and adults), he has his moments where he just doesn't want to but for the most part is great at sharing. |
| Lots of hugging occurs at our house! |
| Sophie is into the kitchen now. She is starting to get the fact that she can cook like mommy! |
| Happy hour! We are growing a lot of mint at the house. Carl makes himself mint juleps and Jack asks for a mint juice. Carl makes him a mint with simple syrup on the rocks. Cheers!!! |
| Trying on our new baptismal gown!!! We can't wait for godmother Elaine to arrive. |
| New shoes for everyone. We have growing feet at our house. It is hard to keep them in shoes these days. |
| We have lots to look forward to for the rest of the summer! |
