Happy second birthday to my Soapie!

We celebrated the birthday of my little fireball, Soapie (as she calls herself). She is strong willed, smart and fiery! From the day of her birth, she has surprised and amazed me. Sophia was a calm and sweet newborn who slept easily and always wanted me to lay next to her in bed.  I would put her in my bed, lay next to her, watch her eyelids flutter as she checked to make sure I was still there next to her and then within minutes watch her drift off.  I would put her into her bassinett and she slept peacefully through the night.  When she got sick while Carl was gone, she was strong and resilient through all the poking and tests.  She came through with flying colors and I knew then that she was one determined little cookie.

When she was just one, her older brother, Jack, stole a little metal race car she was playing with.  As he grinned with delight, you could see the wheels in her little head turning.  When he turned his head, she reached up and wacked and wacked and wacked his head until he cried.  Sophia was then the one with the grin.  In their sibling battles, she is always the one who has the last swat, the meanest bite, and Carl normally pulls her away as she is using every effort in her body to get in one last good hit.  Although she's a bruiser, she cuddles in her brother's lap at every chance, gives amazing hugs and loves to sit on me and read as many books as she can carry.

Despite her sucker punch, she is quite a girly girl.  One purse, bracelet or doll are never enough.  Five purses, 30 bracelets (no joke) and as many babies as one can carry are more her style.  She's got quite a sweet tooth but never says no to a good piece of pizza.  Her favorite resting space is on a 180lb dog, Georgie.  You can find her there with a good book and a baby.  Sometimes timid at first, she loves to dance and sing.  The wheels on the bus is her absolute favorite.  Her favorite book is Five little monkeys jumping on the bed and her go-to doll is one of my old babies.  She has her own flair. I really am enjoying watching her grow and change.  She is so quickly turning into a little girl.

To celebrate her second birthday, Carl took the day off of work and we went out to breakfast at the new Maple Street biscuit company.  Afterwards, we went to the playground. The weather was beautiful.  We let Sophia and Jack ice the cake and put sprinkles in between the layers of the cake as well as on top!

It was SOOO good!!!

We actually had three different cakes to celebrate Sophia's birthday week.  This Barbie pink cake, strawberry bunny muffins for Sophia's class, and then a big castle cake for Sophia's birthday party. We ate cake for two weeks!

Sophia is a real girly girl.  She loves wearing her bows and her hair is getting very long.

At Sophia's two year appointment, she weighed 27lbs and was 34 inches tall.
