The calm before the storm

Jack with his infamous bubbles
Things are very quiet here in Erie.  We realize that this will not last very long, as it is a few short weeks before we begin a whirlwind tour of the U.S. and Europe.  Carl and I are really trying to savor our weekends at home, relaxing, and spending time with Jack and the pups.  The only thing that gets in the way are these open houses.  Today, I did my last open house.  After I had two grandparents use the house as a "pit stop" for their grandkids, I have decided to throw in the towel and let the professionals handle it.  I just still cannot comprehend what drives someone who is not really in the market to buy a home to just stop by, wander around a random home, open their cupboards, and waste a perfectly good sunny Sunday.

Best Friends!
Jack is getting over a cold.  A sinus cold is so frustrating for a baby.  They can't take nasal decongestants, and don't know how to blow their nose. The only thing that works is that little plastic bulb that you stick in their nostrils...Jack has learned very quickly to smack it away with his hand. This cold is making it hard for him to sleep, and is terribly frustrating for our little guy.  I hope he gets better soon!

I love this face...it is so Jack!
Although Jack still has no interest in crawling, he loves to stand.  I think he may take after his father and walk before he crawls.  Jack also has learned how to clap his hands this week.  It is terribly cute, and he sings da-da-da while clapping. Carl absolutely adores Jack's da-da songs.  He gets this huge grin from ear to ear, even though he realizes that Jack sings da-da to the dogs, his toys and even his food!
Chatting at the zoo playground

Last week, Jack and I went to playgroup, the zoo, and had friends come over.  Below are some pictures from St. Patrick's Day

I am waving his Captain Calamari doll....He loves this little octopus

Sharing a spoon!
I am trying to keep Jack's knees and feet bare when the weather permits as I think it helps him get traction to crawl
Of all the toys we have, they were completely entertained with the wooden spoons!
